Today I woke up at 10 so I could get to my music class at 11:10. When I got there however, I found out that my teacher had changed the schedule so class starts at 11:45. So I sat and worked on my blog posts until class was about to start. The teacher was very late to class, so I ended up sitting and talking with Mori, the only other girl in the class until he got there. It turns out that this class is one of those required blowoff classes that nobody wants to take. It was full of a bunch of sophomore boys, boys who had either flunked out of it, or boys that managed to not have to take the class. Mori was in it because she didn't have room in her schedule for it when she was a sophomore. It was a very funny first day, because the teacher punished the boys who were talking by making them translate a traditional Finnish love song into english so I could understand it. And then he had all of them sing it. The boys got really into it and Mori and I were laughing really hard. But it turns out this class will not have very much actual music playing in it, the teacher apparently usually just stands in front of the class and lectures (in Finnish) about Finnish composers. It will be interesting, but very hard to understand. In my art class we are working on 3d perspective drawing, and on Thursday we are taking a field trip to a museum in Helsinki, which I am very excited about. In that class there is a girl named Roosa, and she is very outgoing and has been very nice to me as well. I have never ridden a train before, and today I had to ride one for the first time, by myself. It was a little stressful because all the signs and places to buy tickets were in Finnish, so I had to ask for help from some people. Luckily, everyone that I have met so far in Kauklahti (the place where I live) has been very nice and willing to help. I took a train to Leppärvära station, where I found the library. There I bought a metro card and I got a library card. After that I wandered around the English books section until 6 when my first AFS meeting started. It was about 45 minutes long and the whole time was just introductions. I was the only one there without a host family member, which was fine, and I had several people offer me a ride home. I met a lot of really nice exchange students and we have a group chat now on Whatsapp. I got a ride home from Heidi, my liaison, and I spent the last couple hours of the day relaxing at home. Until next time!! Moi Moi!
