Stella and Alica took me into Helsinki so I could buy some stuff that I needed, such as a winter coat. I got a really nice coat, because if I hadn't I might have died during the “dark time.” Everyone always talks about how bad the dark time is. The dark time is in November and December when the sun only rises above the horizon for a couple hours each day. In northern Finland the sun may not rise above the horizon at all. Right now I am really looking forward to it because it will be so strange and different, but I feel like I will miss the sun after awhile. Anyway, I got off on a tangent there, we had a really good time wandering around Helsinki, shopping and eating, and they showed me some cool places. There is always interesting things going on in Helsinki, art shows, musicians, and just unique stuff. I have noticed that Finns tend to be very innovative when it comes to arts, architecture, music, etc.
