I had an idea to surprise the kids today, but I am not sure it will happen. Halloween is not common at all here... Actually it just started gaining popularity over the last couple years. The only reason the kids know anything about it is because Aada and Venla went to an English kindergarten and they celebrate it there. They have a little party where the kids can dress up, but other than that Halloween isn't a celebrated in Finland. I thought, what kid doesn't love carving pumpkins? Maybe I can go and find a couple to bring to the house and we can all do it together. It seemed like a good idea, but now I have run into a few problems. One of them being that pumpkins are practically non existent in Finland. They sell canned pumpkin for cooking and that is it. I will look all over Helsinki if I have to to find one. Wish me luck!
