Today was a busy day! Filled with Christmas excitement! In Finland, they don't have a holiday in November after All Saints Day. So that means that there is nothing to stop them from starting Christmas early. There is an unwritten rule in the US that you can’t start celebrating Christmas until after Thanksgiving. Here they don't have thanksgiving, so all that gets thrown out the window. This year we started especially early due to all the snow. I helped Venla set up the mini Christmas tree, which she has now claimed as her own, in her room. Then I helped Sari put the Christmas lights up on the outside of the house.
The other exciting thing that happened today was that Sari taught me how to make the delicious Korvapusti. It’s kind of like a cinnamon bun, but not exactly. We made it from scratch and they were so delicious. The stuff on top is sugar, not salt.
