My third presentation on the US was today. Once again, the kids asked a lot of questions and were really interested in what I had to say. The teacher wants me to come in and help with finals, so the kids can talk to a native English speaker, which I would love to do. This time the presentation was at my school, so it was really great for me because I was only missing one class, as opposed to on Monday when I missed two. This is worth it though, and I wouldn't mind missing more classes if I were to be asked again. I really enjoy doing it.
I always ask if any students are interested in becoming exchange students or traveling abroad. There are usually a few, not to many, that raise their hand. Hopefully I can encourage more to do it.
One thing that I have learned while abroad is that we Americans tend to think that everyone hates us, but that actually isn't the case. I don't know why we believe that about ourselves. Most young people that I meet want to visit the US and learn more about it.
