Food (Cookies)

Lately I have been spending more time in the kitchen. I made lemon tea cookies today, and they were so freaking good. The problem though, is that they are about the size of a quarter. So it is ridiculously easy to just pop one after another into your mouth until suddenly you realize you have eaten 20 of them. Honestly I don’t know how I am not fat. The problem with cooking as an exchange student is that the food never tastes right. Since you are in a different country, their ingredients are different. Either it is really hard or impossible to find the right ingredients that you are used to cooking with, or they just taste different. Though flour is flour and sugar is sugar in any country, often the origin of the ingredient is different so it has a slightly different taste, or texture. I tried to make chocolate chip cookies a couple days ago, and I used my regular recipe. Yet, they were completely different than how they usually end up. Not worse, just different. Okay, yeah, a little worse. To make a long story short it is just very frusterating. The ones on the left are the lemon cookies I made, and the one below the family made. It is a traditional Finnish

gingerbread/molasses Christmas cookie.
