My New Year's Eve was incredibly fun. The best one I have ever had. I won't include too many details, but we went out drinking at a bar in Helsinki. I had a couple, but not enough to get drunk. I love watching how differently people react to being drunk. One guy got really gratutous and he went around all night asking people if they wanted drinks. "Do you want a drink? I think you need a drink. I'm gonna get you a drink." It was hilarious. Another got very angry and paranoid. Several got very touchy and wanted to hug everyone.
The last two weeks have been extremely different than any other time in my life. It has been surprisingly great. That is not saying that there have not been times where I have been sad, it's just that I've been in a very good mood for the most part. I have been really busy and at the same time really lazy. I saw a couple movies (as well as I watched a couple on Netflix), I went to the Helsinki Art Museum (HAM) with some friends and saw some cool exhibits. I facetimed with my family while they were all together. School started again and my favorite classes are the dance classes for the prom. I wish we could do them more often. My only problem that I'm annoyed about is that I can't motivate myself to study Finnish. Once I start doing it I really like it, but for some reason I struggle to actually pick up the book. :/
We went and visited my host grandmother again, but Sari didn't mention to me that we were staying the night there. So I had nothing with me. It was pretty funny, to be honest. We went swimming and ate and just relaxed.
I went to Aatu's Hockey Tournament and helped them make all of the teams food. There was a ridiculous amount of voileipa, (pictured below) and the teams didn't even eat half of it. There must have been 300 pieces.
I made cookies and I stuffed them with Oreos. And then I ate them all. Finally, the last picture is a shirt that was sent to me by my wonderful aunt and uncle in New York. I love Tina!!
